Breakfast for Dinner

Slow Food had their first event, Breakfast for Dinner, that featured delicious pancakes from around the world! If you missed it, you can relive the experience through the photos...can't promise you that you won't want to lick the screen.
Kim was making our delicious caramel chai tea, that disappeared within ten minutes.
Virginia is stirring away, cooking our delicious ricotta pear crepe filling and Rosalie is helping me with the scallion pancakes.

Katharine is prepping the latkes while Em is making the kimchi pancakes.

Meredith looks way too happy to be scrubbing away...
Slow Foodies hard at work.

Anyone want pumpkin ginger pancake batter???
Rolling the dough for scallion pancakes, yummmmm.
Someone had greedy hands and nipped a bit out of our dutch pancake!

We cooked our pancakes crowded around the two small stoves in Lake House, careful not to jostle each other too much and to avoid the occasional oil splatter.
Fillings for crepes and dutch pancakes included persimmons, pear ricotta filling, apple cinnamon filling and pomegranates.

The menu:
Pumpkin pancakes
Crepes with choice of apple cinnamon filling, pear ricotta filling, or nutella
Scallion Pancakes
Dutch Pancake
Latkes
Spectators also got to get in on the action! Here are some people looking on at the scallion pancake process and others were busy grating for the latkes.

Wringing out the potatoes.
Look at the pancake skills! The whole kitchen smelled of delicious spices from these ginger pumpkin pancakes.
The glorious puffed up dutch pancake, fresh out of the oven, was the universal favorite of the night.

The night was filled with delicious fall produce, food, and good company. Come check out future Slow Food events to join the fun!
